Our workshops are customized, innovative and designed to accelerate a coach’s people and leadership skills. Able to accommodate 30–200 people, the workshops bring together a concentrated focus on self-awareness, leadership theory, management strategies, philosophy and team culture development. Each workshop can be presented as a “deep dive” half-day format, or all three can be delivered in one day-long session. There is also the option for one-hour talks.
Begin Within Coaching Philosophy Development
What values or personal principles do you bring to your day-to-day coaching culture? If five of your athletes were asked to describe your coaching philosophy, what would they say? Whether coaches realize it or not, they bring their own unique style and viewpoint to their job. With such a strong emphasis throughout sports organizations on creating a positive team culture, it’s imperative that coaches be able to clearly define and refine their coaching philosophy, which is the foundation of all effective teams. This dynamic workshop equips coaches with the tools to shape and seed their coaching philosophy into their sports communities. Outcomes include higher team spirit, more engaged athletes and clearer focus.
Conflict Resolution
From having to release or suspend a player, to talking with your assistant coach about how to improve, difficult conversations can be stressful. However, conflicts that are ignored or resolved badly don’t go away; they build resentment. This workshop helps coaches reframe conflict to see it as a powerful opportunity to deepen relationships, foster better understanding and grow professionally. Highly interactive, the workshop enables coaches to communicate more effectively, resolve conflicts and create a more open environment.
Your DISC Profile
DISC profiles have been used since 1928 and are the only recognized behavioral profiling tool specifically for athletes, coaches and sports administration. Through these profiles, coaches learn more about their unique coaching behaviors, style and preferences. This greater self-awareness brings a deeper understanding into their motivations and communication methods, and helps them better identify opportunities for development. A look into all behavioral styles brings some “aha moments” designed to improve interactions with both athletes and colleagues. Note: While a DISC assessment prior to the workshop is not required, it is highly beneficial.
